not me. The beach that I chose for this shoot is ALWAYS abandoned..always. Well, Saturday was the day that a bride and groom decided to tie the knot in the exact location and at the exact time as our shoot. Great job, Rebecca. I park, wait on Tammy and little Joshua to get there. As they pull up, I get out of a car and a helicopter starts to take flight about 50 feet from where I was standing. I didn’t even notice the helicopter until I stepped out of the car, heard the ear curdling noise, and then saw it lift off. That wasn’t so bad, for us…but I bet that bride and groom didn’t appreciate that![]()
We walk toward a patch of shade and decide to shoot around until the wedding was over. I tell Tammy “oh, come over here..there’s a beach right down these steps that I’ve used before. It will be perfect, away from the wedding.” I walk over to the steps, look down and there is no beach, only water…apparently in Florida there’s something called high tide and low tide…I should know these things.

I got some shots of Joshua, his Caterpillar truck, and his sweet 1 year old boy smile then we decide that it’s time for the smash cake. I go to her car to get it, bring it to where we were sitting, put it on a blanket….a gust of wind blew the blanket up and it ALMOST landed on top of the cake. Thank GOODNESS it stopped short, that poor cake that Tammy made herself would have been totaled….get it? it’s a car/cake ;)

Joshua eats his cake, makes a huge mess as 1 year olds are supposed to do and Tammy goes “i don’t think I have wipes…”

oh boy…

this is a look of “come on now mom, really? no wipes for me???”

Tammy was such a good sport about it all and Joshua didn’t seem to mind at all
She did find some wipes in her car. That would have been one interesting and messy ride home fo sho!!
happy 1st birthday little man..
